Our Service

The Frank Bruno Foundation is currently NOT taking any referrals due to the recent Covid19 virus outbreak. We will continue to follow the Government and Medical Authorities advice and keep the situation under review and will continue to work behind the scenes.

We would like to re-emphasise that our thoughts are with everyone affected by Covid-19 at this time and wish everyone well. Stay safe and respect social distancing.

The Foundation's Core Programme

Anyone can be affected by mental health issues and we recognise that this can start at a very young age. Many different things can trigger mental health difficulties. Many people feel they can not talk about difficulties they are facing. This could be because of fear of being judged, being isolated and having no one to talk to, feeling ashamed, not understanding why they feel the way they do and/or being unsure of what help is available.

The Frank Bruno Foundation will offer wellbeing programmes and  structured non-contact boxing sessions for any one over the age of 10 years; who are experiencing problems with mental ill-health. The Round by Round programme will consist of  2 weekly sessions of emotional wellbeing and non-contact boxing. Sessions will be age and ability appropriate. The centre will be open 5 days a week for different clients to access. To discuss future referrals in the first instance please contact info@thefrankbrunofoundation.co.uk.

The aim is to bring healthy-body and healthy mind approaches together to provide a holistic and enjoyable approach to supporting all clients with mental ill health.

This may help:

• Increase self-confidence

• Improve self-regulation

• Develop self-worth

• Develop social skills

• Increase mental wellbeing

Focusing on these key areas will help to support social inclusion and to fight stigma. The programme will strive to assist participants to build on their existing physical and emotional strengths and achievements. Our aspiration is that participants will use the skills they learn on the programme to develop a happier, more fulfilling and successful future.

Stay in Work Scheme

It is widely reported that mental ill-health will affect one in four people at some point in their lives. People with mental health problems frequently suffer discrimination in the work place and feel unable to talk through their difficulties because of fear, judgement, embarrassment and/or stigma. When people are struggling to cope this leads to taking time off and may sometimes result in long term sick leave.

The ‘stay in work scheme’ is aimed to help professionals who may be struggling with mental health difficulties, stay in work and prevent long term sickness. The aim is to provide the service to help, aid and support participants through their difficulties and give them the tools and skills to manage their own mental health. The aim of the Foundation is to provide a 12 week, once weekly, well-being programme complemented with structured non-contact boxing sessions in addition, we offer a needs led 16 week wrap around service for professionals asset with any impacting factors, for example housing, money worries, addiction, family difficulties and bereavement.

Employers will offer the opportunity for participants to take one morning or afternoon a week to attend sessions whilst still continuing to stay at work. The aim is to bring healthy body and healthy mind approaches together to provide a holistic and enjoyable approach to supporting clients with mental ill-health. This may help:

• Increase self-confidence

• Improve self-regulation

• Develop self-worth

• Develop social skills

• Increase mental wellbeing

Focusing on these key areas will help to support inclusion and to fight stigma. The programme will strive to assist participants to build on their existing physical and emotional strengths and achievements. Our aspiration is that participants will use the skills they learn on the programme to develop a happier, more fulfilled and successful future.

Wrap Around Service

As part of an exit strategy the wrap around service is to provide participants who are referred in to the Frank Bruno Foundation an initial consultation to identify any factors that might be hindering any progression within the Round by Round programme, this will roll over to 4 weeks post 12 week programme. We feel as a charity that we can support participants with building on existing strengths and developing new skills however we would like to advocate in resolving any impacting or environmental factors. This is a need led service. If we feel it is not something we can assist with we will endeavour to seek the support of signpost.
