It is widely reported that mental ill-health will affect one in four people at some point in their lives. People with mental health problems frequently suffer discrimination in the work place and feel unable to talk through their difficulties because of fear, judgement, embarrassment and/or stigma. When people are struggling to cope this leads to taking time off and may sometimes result in long term sick leave.
The ‘stay in work scheme’ is aimed to help professionals who may be struggling with mental health difficulties, stay in work and prevent long term sickness. The aim is to provide the service to help, aid and support participants through their difficulties and give them the tools and skills to manage their own mental health. The aim of the Foundation is to provide a 12 week, once weekly, well-being programme complemented with structured non-contact boxing sessions in addition, we offer a needs led 16 week wrap around service for professionals asset with any impacting factors, for example housing, money worries, addiction, family difficulties and bereavement
Focusing on these key areas will help to support inclusion and to fight stigma. The programme will strive to assist participants to build on their existing physical and emotional strengths and achievements. Our aspiration is that participants will use the skills they learn on the programme to develop a happier, more fulfilled and successful future.
Employers will offer the opportunity for participants to take one morning or afternoon a week to attend sessions whilst still continuing to stay at work.
The aim is to bring healthy body and healthy mind approaches together to provide a holistic and enjoyable approach to supporting clients with mental ill-health.
